CapitalFC is announcing its new developmental program that will kick-off in March and run through mid-May. "This is an important piece for our club because it will bring players up to the standard that is required to play at the travel level beginning at the U9 age group. We want to make sure the kids develop a real love for the game, and at the same time, ensure they are doing things the right way technically. They will be in an environment where there is no winning or losing pressure - just fun and learning" said CFC Interim Coaching Director Mike Barrette. "We are excited to have Coach Denis Chekuristov leading up the program. Coach Denis has a great way of connecting with younger players and engaging their attention. We will also be involving former DC United player and incoming Technical Director, Judah Cooks and other CapitalFC coaches on a rotating basis into the sessions. This will get our coaching staff familiar with players that may eventually come through the club."
The program will focus on teaching 1 on 1 moves to beat an opponent, proper 1st touch, and various aspects of shooting and passing. The program will include 13 training sessions and 4 festival-type scrimmages with other local clubs that will be invited to play against the CFC academy players. The program is $175 with a $25 discount for those registering by Feb 20th.
